The 2019 Two-Stroke World Championship is a true classic event, bringing out the old-timers and young ones to Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California. The SLR Honda team of Ricky Dietrich (#39)  and Tallon Lafountaine (#259) competed in the Open Pro Class against seasoned riders such as Tyler Bowers and Robbie Wageman for a chance to take home a win.

With stacked gates and a sandy track, both Dietrich and Lafountaine managed to leave it all out on the track. After a rear brake issue in the first race of the day, Dietrich surprised the fans of Glen Helen with a holeshot in the second moto and leading the race for 3 laps, “I think with a bit more time on the bike, I could have led more laps but all in all it was a really fun weekend,” says Dietrich.

Lafountaine knew what he needed to do in his second race of the day to stay up in points and made sure he was going to walk away from that race knowing he gave it his all. Lafountaine states, “I was in 10th and trying to make passes on the first lap before colliding with another rider and hitting the deck. I was then in about 30th before crossing the finish line on the first lap and managed to push my way up to 9th before the end of the race.”

Results:

  1. Ricky Dietrich 20-7
  2. Tallon Lafountaine 22-9
