2020 NGPC Big6 Series

Prmm, NV | Round 6

The SLR Honda team competed in the sixth round of the 2020 NGPC Big6 series on October 18th in Primm, NV. Known to be one of the toughest desert races on the west coast, each team rider battled through dry and dusty conditions. In the Pro Class, Trevor Stewart finished in 3rd place and Cole Martinez in 5th while Pro 2 rider, Tallon Lafountaine, experienced unexpected bike issues that took him out of the race.

Race Action

Trevor Stewart #1 grabbed 3rd and teammate, Cole Martinez #34, fell behind in 8th place to start the race. While Stewart maintained a steady pace with the leaders of the Pro class, Martinez worked relentlessly up to 4th place to battle to the finish. At the 45-minute mark, Martinez made a charge, tightening up the pack and making 2nd-6th all within a few seconds of each other. Both team riders entered the pits and took off side by side to battle to the finish. Martinez crossed the finish line in 3rd and Stewart in 4th. Ultimately Martinez had two positions taken for making an illegal pass, placing Stewart on the podium in 3rd and him in 5th.

In Pro 2, Tallon Lafountaine #259 started the race strong and in 2nd place. While battling with the lead bike, Lafountaine found himself leading the race for some time and then fell back into 2nd. Unfortunately, Lafontaine fell short of the finish line due to bike issues that took him out of the race.
