2020 WORCS Round 2

SLR Honda | Taft, CA

The SLR Honda team competed in the 2nd  round of the 2020 WORCS series on February 23rd, 2020 at the Honolulu Hills raceway. With a strong lead throughout the Pro2 race, Tallon Lafountaine took home a well deserved 1st place win. On the podium, Cole Martinez finished in 3rd place and following the top 5 in the Pro class, team rider Trevor Stewart finished in 6th place.

With a consistent flow and solid race, Lafountaine brings home his first win of this year’s WORCS series and is setting the pace for a successful season. Lafountaine is in the mental and physical shape needed to dominate the Pro2 class this year and with his drive to place himself on the podium, he is focused to maintain this position.

Martinez started the race wide open with a holeshot and battled upfront throughout the rest of the day. Following closely behind 2nd place, Taylor Robert, Martinez finished in 3rd place and once again found himself on the podium. He is motivated to stay on the leader board and continue gaining momentum.

After overcoming food poisoning days prior to the race, Stewart was able to battle with the leaders of the Pro class. Running in 4th place for the 1st hour, he found his flow but eventually fell back into his finishing place. Stewart went home with a 6th place finish but with further bike testing, his place on the podium is in the near future.

SLR Honda’s next race will be at Round 3 of the NGPC Big6 series on February 29, 2020, at Glen Helen Raceway.
