2022 NGPC Series

Taft, Ca | Round 2

On February 13th, the second round of NGPC took place in Taft, California and was conquered by SLR Honda. Our riders have stepped up to the plate this year and have gotten on the podium in each class thus far. Cole Martinez now has a win, a second, and a third. While younger brother Collier Martinez has won every race in the amateur classes this year. Not to forget two fifty pro, Jack Simspon who has been very consistent and sits second in points in both NGPC and Worcs.

Race Action

Cole Martinez got off to a third place start and was making strides towards the lead. After making a mistake and going off the track he lost time and moved back into fourth. He made a late push with first and second in sight but was too late, ultimately leaving him on the box in third.

Tallon Lafountaine got nearly a last place start and moved through the pack. He then got into a groove and found his flow near the top ten. Where he ended up finding himself riding clean and smooth to the finish in eighth.

Jack Simpson had another impressive ride in his first time racing NGPC Taft. The Honolulu Hills Raceway off-road course is no walk in the park, especially racing it for the first time. That did not stop Jack from pushing to the finish and grabbing his third, second place finish of the year.

Collier Martinez got off to a good start and got up front early. Once he got into the lead he rode his own race and captured his third win of the year. Collier has been turning heads and riding extremely well in his first year with support from SLR Honda.
