2022 NGPC Series Preston, Idaho | Round 7
Race Report and Photos
Beautiful Preston, Idaho is always one of our favorite places to go racing. It makes it that much more enjoyable when you get an awesome track and prep by Cache Valley MX, and the RMX Series. The scenery is like no other, through the corn fields and along the cemetery’s green lake. Our guys always look forward to racing here and enjoy it while we can. Although we did not get the results, we wanted we will be going back to the shop to build off it and move forward into the remaining rounds.
Cole Martinez did not get off to the best start. With that and a technical, dusty track it was hard to come back. Nonetheless, the speed was definitely amongst the top guys and while only finishing one spot behind the points leader, he is still in the championship fight.
Tallon Lafountaine has been dealing with a shoulder injury, but worked on it over the break. He decided it was feeling good enough to come try and race some offroad. He did not make his life easy by getting a poor start behind his teammate, Cole. Tallon ended up making a push through the dust to finish with a top ten. Jack Simpson rode well considering a minor bike issue. He got off to a good start and ran in the top three for most of the race. Ultimately, he pushed all the way to finish where he landed a fourth place.
Collier Martinez has been riding extremely well this year in the Open A class. He didn’t get off to the greatest start but ran third the entire race, and that’s where he finished. Breaking his 2022 winning streak, but will be looking to come back strong in the next round.
Evan Stice decided to come back and race some offroad after his hip injury. With this being his first race since, it went respectively well. He did not get off to the best start but rode fast and consistent where he found himself battling with teammate, Jack Simpson. He ultimately one that battle and landed himself on the podium box in third place.
