2020 SLR Honda Off-Road Program
Presenting 2021 Team Riders and Race Plan
San Diego, CA – January 15, 2021 – SLR Honda announces its team riders and race plan for the 2021 season after a successful year. Led by Baja Champion Mark Samuels, SLR Honda will focus the team’s racing efforts on the U.S. West Coast events of Worcs, NGPC, and the NHHA series.
Returning to the NGPC series with the No. 1 plate, Tallon Lafountaine will be racing in the 250 Pro class and in the Worcs series as No. 259 on a CRF250RX. Onboard the CRF450RX, Cole Martinez will be racing in the 450 Pro class in both the Worcs and NGPC series this season as No. 34. Also making an exciting return, Justin Morgan plans to race the NHHA series Pro class on a CRF450X.
“We’re excited to get the 2021 season started. Winning two championships in 2020 made it a great year, and we plan to keep building from there. Honda has come out with a new CRF450RX that will put us in a great position to fight for wins in the Worcs and NGPC 450 pro championships. I am also excited to see our Baja CRF450X taking on the NHHA series with Justin Morgan.”
– Mark Samuels, Team Owner
The NGPC series will be the first race of the season on January 17, 2021 at the Mesquite MX Facility in Arizona. Both Lafountaine and Martinez will be in attendance and ready to dominate the competition.
“I came on strong at the end of last year and got a handful of wins in both series along with the NGC championship. It feels great to have the #1 on my back, and I can’t wait to race this season. We made some big improvements to the bike, and it’s running awesome! We recovered during the offseason to re-energize, but now it’s time to get back out there and start where we left off.”
– Tallon Lafountaine, NGPC 250 Pro Champion
With continued support from American Honda, the team is thrilled to represent the Ride Red program this year with hopes to continue progressing as a top desert off-road team.
